Keeping It Real, a Look at Motivational Posters #3

Written by Mike Young on November 19, 2007 at 12:46 pm

Okay, this is the last in the series. I would have posted it earlier, but have been without access to my website since Thursday. Good ole Megapath has screwed me with my T1 connection again.

Anyway, this is the one I said would probably be offensive. So, I’ve made an edit and I’ll make the image small like a thumbnail. If you aren’t overly sensitive, then by all means click to enlarge it. Otherwise, don’t bother. Just move on. I usually don’t post offensive materials. But these were just too funny. And I do have a sense of humor.

Keeping It Real, a Look at Motivational Posters #2

motivational_piss.jpgThis one isn’t too bad. It’s kind of funny and I just get all sorts of warm and tingly thinking about it. Oh… maybe that’s something else. ;)

Keeping It Real, a Look at Motivational Posters #1

So, a friend of mine emailed me some of these mock-motivational posters and I just about peed my pants. There were three of them and I’m listing them in reverse order of what I thought was funny. The sad part is the funniest one is also probably the most offensive. It was still funny, nonetheless.

I hope you enjoy these. The others will follow next week.

What Blogging Widgets Annoy You, Help You?

Written by Mike Young on November 4, 2007 at 1:09 am

So, I blog, but am obviously a novice at it, compared to some of you. That said, I’m looking to you to help me identify what’s lacking. For example, any of you ever try to host your blog through Wordpress.com? Did you despise the fact that you had no ability to modify/customize your template? Ever host a picture on Photobucket, only to have it disappear due to censorship? Now you’re maybe getting a sense of what I’m after. Those of you who are on Blogger, remember the hiccups right after they were acquired by Google? Things seem to be much better there, but are they? What annoys with them?

I’m not too familiar with YouTube. But those grainy little videos remind me of old episodes of the Outer Limits. Other than that, I don’t really hear of anything bad.The reason I’m asking is simple. I’d like to find out a way to fill the gaps. And you are my focus group– you and your friends. Please take this time to help me with a little word of mouth marketing by telling me your thoughts. And please do yourself a favor by passing this link over to your friends as well. You can leave comments or you can email me at myoung at mydomain.  The areas of most interest are as follows:

  •  Photo storage: what else do you need besides space?
  • Video storage: any interest?
  • Music hosting: what’s the fit?
  • Any interest in online office tools and collaboration tools?
  • What about photo and/or video editing?
  • What about data replication and backup of your other sites or your laptops, etc?
  • Anything else you can think of?
  • How much storage space is reasonable?

Please… it takes less than a minute to tell me your thoughts, needs and wants. Bear in mind, “You have not because you ask not.” I know… I know. I’ve taken that way out of context. But it doesn’t change the fact that it’s true. ;)

Many thanks!

Me at 40

Written by Mike Young on November 1, 2007 at 10:57 pm

Well, I have reluctantly had a couple of shots taken of me, which I loathe doing. But apparently, there many who believe the avatar shot of me is from like 10 years ago. I dunno. While I’m not entirely pleased with any photo of me, I’d like to think I’m aging well. But who knows? It’s highly subjective and I’m my own worst critic.

So, here I am— twice! Just be kind.

BTW, I don’t really care for how I look in the left shot. But I like the way my left calf (that’s your right) looks. Having not had calves for most of my life, I’m liking it these days. The rest of me looks bloated though. I won’t eat for a week and then retake it. ;) Or maybe not.
