Shure Sounds Great, But…

I don’t know what to say. When it comes to personal audio, I love good sound. And this is totally subjective, I know. But I am very obsessive when it comes to earphones. And after testing numerous ones, I keep going back to Shure. My obsession with Shure began with the E3C’s, which I thought were okay, but not the greatest. I then tried the E5C’s. These earphones were awesome! The sound was nothing short of superb. But after a few months of use, the plastic casing around the wiring began to crack in spots.

Well, around Christmas time I bought the upgrade to these, the SE530‘s. And again, the sound is superb. I love the way they sound. But once again, the wiring is cracking all over the place.

I have no idea how these guys can make a great sounding set of earphones, but some how choose the most brittle wire. The stuff just becomes stiff over time. I suppose I’m not supposed to use them as frequently as I do. Maybe they’re special, holiday earphones– only to be used a couple time a year.

Anyway, my recommendation is to save your money. While the sound is awesome, it’s not worth the agony of seeing your investment  go down the drain. Ugh!

Yeah. That doesn’t make sense. You should write them and let them know.

    Weird.
