Okay, so I really don’t do meme’s. But then again, I’ve never been tagged before, as far as I know. I’m so wrapped up with the new company that I’ve been lousy at blogging lately. My poor friends must think I don’t care, which is hardly the case. I’m just working from 5am to midnight every day.
- I have to post these rules before I give you the facts
- Each player starts with eight random facts/habits about themselves
- People who are tagged need to write their own blog about their eight things and post these rules
- At the end of your blog, you need to choose eight people to get tagged and list their names
- Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them they’re tagged and to read your blog
- (optional– as in just my case) I can’t disclosed who tagged me
Well, here goes:
- I’m a workaholic. I cannot, cannot, cannot sleep in, even when I’ve already determined I’m going to. After 5am, I start getting restless. If 6am comes around, I’ll hit a panic mode and most of my day will be shot. I’ve been this way since I was a kid. My parents’ idea of letting us sleep in was 5:45am. That included during the summer time.
- Doing a new company, Sullego. This is my 5th startup company, but the first one where it looks like I’ll stay at the helm.
- I have a notorious habit of hiring my own boss with the companies I start. It has worked alright over the years; but there have been some challenges. As the visionary, not just the technical lead, we’ve run into issues of doubt and second guessing in the past. Every single time, we’ve listened to critics and modified our game plan. Then when things get grim, I end up pulling us back to our original plan. It’s strange how it happens.
- I love to bike. My real love is for mountain biking. However, I haven’t been able to find anyone to bike with in my part of Colorado. And the trails by my house are much too rough and laden with huge rocks the whole way. And let’s face it, mountain biking on roads isn’t that thrilling. So, I’ve been pretty much riding my road bike exclusively. My typical ride is now 25 miles. I’ll do that at lunch time, though I need to start doing it earlier in the morning as it’s been much too hot by afternoon.
- I bite my nails. I don’t do this out of nervousness. And I always wash my hands and scrub under my nails like a freak. Call me Monk. But when I get really tired, that’s what I do. And I hate them getting odd-shaped as they grow out, so I actually round them better this way than with clippers. I then will follow-up with a file to make them look neat. Strange, gross… I know.
- I shave my legs. Yep. I started doing it back in Florida when I was into bodybuilding. I haven’t been able to stop since then. If you saw how sparse my body hair was, you’d tell me to shave too. For being Scottish, my dad has amazingly little body hair. And I’ve inherited that from him. I can remember growing up jealous of my friends for their hairy chests, legs and arms. To this day, I don’t have to shave my chest at all. Once every two months, I pull out the single hair that grows near each nipple. I’m not making this up. That’s all there is. Two hairs every couple of months.
- I cannot write software (program). I have an M.S. in Computer Information Systems and I used to write my own games when I was in junior high school. And I can hack code all day long in C, Perl, PHP, Python, C++, C#, Java, Lisp and who knows what else. But I cannot start from scratch. I was born for an Open Source and Linux kind of world where I have tons of sample code to get ideas from. I simply go in and make changes or glue various programs together.
- I love candy. I have a very definite sweet tooth and I go nuts if I can’t get some Necco Wafers to munch on every couple of days. I got 9 rolls for Father’s Day and they disappeared in just two days. These are by far my favorite since I was just a child. I never seem to get tired of them.
So, I don’t really have eight people to tag. I’ll do what I can:
That will have to do. I wasn’t going to tag anyone. But I figured I’ve played along this much, I might as well go a bit further.

1) All work and no play…somehow doesn’t sound like you
2) How is that pronounced?
3) Doin’ that the fifth time around? Let us know how that works out for ya.
4) Start a bike club! If there’s one here in Chatty, surely there’s one near you! If not, start it…it’s not like you’ve got anything else to do, except that pesky # 2 above.
5) Can’t stand that habit. Blech, even if they are clean.
6) Ummm. you started out kinda okay, and then you tanked fast into the land of T.M.I. Then again, I’ve been known to do that a time or two
.
7) WhiteNoiseWhiteNoise.
Chocolate is divine. I’m pretty sure that’s in the Bible somewhere.
lol, I’ll get to this sooner or later…this is the kinda thing that can get you some STRANGE hits from search engines…

Robin: Thanks for stopping by. It’s pronounced “SOO-LAY-GO”. LOL! I am bad at getting into TMI. Huh? And I’m sure chocolate is in there. In fact, I think I need some right now.

Yes. You need to leave earlier on your rides (…but the real question is HOW to get you out the door….;) )
You were JEALOUS of hairy dudes!??!?! WTH!? I have yet to meet a chick who says “mmm…I just love run my hands through all that hair on his back and chest…can’t get enough of all that HAIR!” *snort* Silly!
It wasnt until I actually lived with you that I realized the *seriousness* of your candy addiction. It’s amazing actually. LOL

Thanks Guys!!! I appreciate it. I’d been looking at changing the look for a while and it was finally time to do it. I had long been at a point where I couldn’t stand coming to my own site.
And it’s nice to know the two of you can give me a bad time on my own site

I too like the new look of your blog. On a previous post I mentioned I wanted to “pick your brain”. Here goes: I know you mentioned that you don’t write programs; however I do have a quick question. I have included two links. Do you know where I can find software that will accomplish the same that is being accomplished by these two sites? They are online print companies where you can place orders, get instant quotes online, etc…

In case my name does not ring a bell right off the bat, you and I met here in Knoxville, TN approx. 7 years ago.
I look forward to hearing from you.

Hi Ringo,
Of course I remember you. Chelle’s excited about seeing you guys in August.
I’m not quite sure what you’re trying to really accomplish and for what operating system. If you can email me with more info, I’d be happy to assist you however I can. There are numerous page layout programs available for free download. But I usually use these on Mac OS X or on Linux. I don’t really do much of anything with Windows. My email is myoung at wildernessvoice dot com.

Etay: Well… I wouldn’t really know. I don’t even use chap stick. I hate the feel of anything on my lips like that.
