Friday Night in the Young’s Household

fridaylaptops.jpgOkay… so this really is what we look like in our family. Now, this happens to be a bit of an extreme. Normally I’m working in my office there. Yep… that’s my office. No kidding! :) But Chelle is usually sitting at the dining room table in the background. In fact, she’s back over there now. LOL! And Brendan is usually sitting in the living room sofa playing his games or printing things out to color. BTW, I’m in our family room, in case you were wondering about layout.

Yes, we’ve been like this for years. Brendan’s been on his own computer since he was only 2 years old. And Chelle…

But what you can’t see is that while we’re doing this, we’re actually enjoying family time of watching Bad News Bears (the remake). I’m not kidding. And this just what I’ve grown used to doing. I do all my best work (well… almost all) in that little Love Sac. I can go at it for up to 16 hours without getting up for food. Seriously, this is what I did when Chelle and Brendan were in NC last month.

Anyway, I looked over and saw Brendan and it occurred to me that I should snap a shot to share. Otherwise, you might be inclined to think I was making it up. Know what I mean?

I look like I have bunny teeth! :)
Yeah, see the pillow? The computer was burning my legs. And, I was trying to hide behind the computer because I was in my pajamas.

Nice post, Mike. Brendan looks cute and my house does not look messy! ;)

And you didn’t like being called Mike the computer guy? :)

    - chelle: bunny teeth? LOL! You don’t look like you have bunny teeth. ;)

    - david: I definitely don’t like being called Mike the Computer Guy. There’s a HUGE difference between getting invited to reinstall Windows because someone keeps sucking down toolbars to install along with all sorts of spyware vs. architecting and designing the next generation of computer or storage platform. Just a little difference ;)

Now, I don’t want to come across as belittling certain computer professions. But I don’t like it when folks profess to know me and then demonstrate the complete opposite. I do not feel this way about folks trying to understand me. Obviously there’s learning involved. Anyway…

I need to get a laptop. I tried hangin’ out like that with my desktop PC…not too pretty.

    Oh yeah…perfunctory smily ahead: :)

EE: that is pretty funny about the same PJ’s. And I do appreciate the commercial interruption.

Chelle: speak for yourself. I prefer the term geek.

Sarah: thanks for being such a conformist. I always knew that about you.

Joe: I’ve been there and am still there from time to time. You should see me balancing rackmounted servers on my dog’s back.

    ****

And for all of you… ;)

That picture is fantastic! The family that surfs the net together stays to- yeah, that just doesn’t sound as catchy. LOL.
